| Bio: | Probably the best thing about being me is I’m easily entertained. Seeing a plant growing from a crack can amuse me for hours. Just briefly seeing a woman with flowers in her hair was a source of great excitement for months afterwards. And family barbeques from when I was four and five still provide me with hours of entertainment even now. Writers need to be able to entertain themselves with very little stimuli. I expect they see the world differently to other people. I know I do. Every person I see walking on the street is a potential character. I give them names, jobs, families and problems, just from glancing them out the window as I drive by. Perhaps I just don’t get out much. I was always a storyteller. I always had an overactive imagination and as a child I had no sense of where reality ended and imagination began. So convinced was I of my own reality, I often managed to convince others, including adults, my fantasies were real. This was why I was not allowed to watch TV or movies beyond a PG rating until I was fourteen or so. Nothing scares me and by some bizarre miscommunication, I thought I was a boy until I started primary school. I still dream I am male, and occasionally, if I watch horror movies before bed, I dream I am an ancient evil and the hero of the movie is trying to kill me. Ash from The Evil Dead movies still frightens me a little because of this. I love horror movies, but can not stand real violence or cruelty. Once I scared myself by catching sight of my reflection in a door. At college. In broad daylight. Everyone who knows me thinks I am very silly, however people who don’t know me often think I am going to mug them. I’m very short. And to bring us full circle, writing all these barely coherent facts about myself amused me greatly. Much like a dead bug or a plastic toy dinosaur would. I love plastic toy dinosaurs. | |||||
